Mr. Woodrow Brown, 79 of Lumber St., Lincolnton entered into rest on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11am at Jones Chapel. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown, son of the late William Alvin and Mary Della Etheridge Brown was born on February 24, 1943 in Sumter County and grew up in Leesburg. In his early 20’s, he was employed by Jimmy Wingfield Stables in Leesburg where he trained surrey race horses and cutting horses. After moving to Lincolnton, he worked at McCormick Mill, Oxford Manufacturing in the cutting room and 13 years at ASCOT where he retired. He attended Jones Chapel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eric Brown and siblings, W.A. Brown, Johnny Franklin Brown, Ronnie Earl Brown, James Harold Brown, Nettie Mae Brown, and Betty Jean Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Freeland Brown; daughter, Sharon B. Haley and husband Ken of Clarksville; brother, Roy Michael Brown and wife Patricia of Albany; sisters, Fannie Sue Brown and husband Charlie of Leesburg, Mary Jacqueline Hair of Leesburg, Patsy Lee Bufford and husband Sam of Thomasville, Ga, six grandchildren, Johnathan Nicholas Crookham, Casey Amanda Dion, Kerrie Kattagat, Cody Brown, Katie Spratlin and Erica Lynn Jones; seven great- grandchildren.
