Mr. Willie Lewis Sherman, 67 of Jones Martin Rd., Lincolnton, Ga. passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Thomson Manor, Thomson, Ga.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Lincolnton. Interment will follow at Parks Grove Church Cemetery.
Mr. Sherman, son of the late George and Channie Ferguson Sherman, was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. He was a self employed building and maintenance contractor and was a member of Parks Grove F.B.H. Church. He was a kind man who loved his family and friends.In addition to his parents, his brother, Thomas Allen Sherman preceded him in death.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Debbie Sherman; sons, Marlin Sherman of Lincolnton, Marcus Sherman (Princess) of Evans, Keith Sherman Barr of Greenville, Willie Lewis “Knottie” Sherman, Jr. of Augusta; daughter, Jennifer Sherman Roberts (Fionne) of Augusta; brothers, George Sherman, Jr. of Lincolnton, Fred Sherman (Jacqueline) of Lincolnton, Frank Sherman (Hywithia) of Lincolnton, David Sherman (Savannah) of Augusta; sisters, Josephine S. Becks (Lorenzo) of Lincolnton, Mary Sherman of Lincolnton, Rev. Penny S. Quinn (Dennis) of Washington, Rev. Mamie S. Gray (Shawn) of Philadelphia, Evangelist Wanda Lisa S. Perkins (Bobby) of Lincolnton; 8 grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; Mrs. Mary Dill of Lincolnton.
Irvin Murray, James E. Danner, James Danner IV, Jaylan Rusher- Danner, Alan Raley, Franklin Sherman, Craigory Becks, RaMarcus Porter will serve as pallbearers. The Lincoln County High School Class of 1971 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
