William "Larry" Luke

William “Larry” Luke, 78, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2023.

Larry was born in Thomson, Georgia on February 21, 1945, grew up in McDuffie County and was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County.  He was Baptist by faith and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.  He served his County in the U.S. Airforce, and his career profession was a heavy equipment operator for McDuffie County.  Larry loved working outside, running equipment, playing golf, doing projects, serving his Lord and attending Church, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Larry Luke and Eula Cooper Luke; his son Billy Luke; his daughters, Tina Luke Gay and Wendy Luke and his siblings, Harold Luke, Gloria Chalker and Norma Jean Johnson.  Larry’s survivors include his devoted wife of 42 years, Mary Smith Luke; his son, Robin Luke (Cindi); his daughter, Becky Luke Langham; ten grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and other extended family members.

Larry’s family will receive friends at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m.
