William Branson Kent, 77, of Warrenton, Georgia, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on March 24, 2022.

Branson was born in Augusta, Georgia on August 30, 1944. He grew up in Glascock County and upon graduation, served 22 years in the Army National Guard. After he and his wife, Jean, married on October 16, 1964, they moved to Augusta where he worked as an insurance agent. In 1977, Branson and Jean moved to Warrenton, Georgia where he worked at Plant Vogtle and eventually retired as a rural mail carrier. Mr. Kent has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Warrenton since 1977; where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Director.  He is also a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge #11 where he served as junior warden.  Branson enjoyed fishing on the St. Johns River, watching westerns, was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan and loved watching his grandchildren play sports.  He was a loving family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Kent is preceded in death by his parents, W.B. Kent, Sr. and Cleo Newsome Kent, and his brother, Reginald Kent.  He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Jean Stanley Kent; his son, Jon Kent of Warrenton; his daughter, Amy Hadden (Andrew) of Avera; his brother, Nolan Kent of Warrenton (Linda Sue); his grandchildren, Spencer Hadden (Riley), Mason Kent (Fiancé, Morgan Matthews), Gracie Kent and Landon Kent, and several nieces and nephews.

His Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 206 N. Norwood Street, Warrenton, Georgia 30828, and his Funeral Service, being officiated by Dr. Brandon Furr and Rev. Mike Dann, will follow at 3:00 p.m. with the interment at Gibson Cemetery, Gibson, Georgia.  Pallbearers for the service are Spencer Hadden, Bobby Hickman, Jeff Kent, Landon Kent, Mason Kent, Chris Josey, Michael Kent and Jeffrey Kent. Honorary Pallbearers include, fishing buddies and friends, Madison Bolton, Roy Cato, Palmer Hadden, Joey May, Jim McMichael, Harold Price, and Keith Price.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family’s personal guestbook.
