Mr. William P. Bentley, 88, beloved husband of Mrs. Lee Bentley, entered into rest on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Bentley, son of the late Robert W. and Ruth Smalley Bentley, was a lifelong resident of Lincolnton, Ga. He retired after 44 years of service from Milliken McCormick Mill and was a member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. William was an avid fan of the Lincoln County Red Devils.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Family members include his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Lee Bentley; daughters, Anne Wright and husband Al; Elaine Timmerman; and Lisa Mahaffey and husband Chuck; grandchildren, Haley Dumpe and husband Jarrod; Ryan Timmerman; Jonathan Wright and wife Brandi; Erin Cooper and husband Derek; Jordan Cliatt and husband Chris and Ethan Mahaffey; great- grandchildren, Grayson, Reese and Noah Dumpe; Olivia Cooper; and Bentley Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Bailey, Mary Jo Ferguson; brother, Lester Bentley; and son-in-law, Raymond Timmerman.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church, c/o Alvin Cox, 2476 Leathersville Rd., Lincolnton, Ga 30817.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga.
