Wanda (Bruce) Cox

Mrs. Wanda Bruce Cox, 70 of Roberson Campbell Rd., Washington entered into rest on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional, Athens, Ga.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Washington Wilkes Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:30am until 11:30am on Saturday at Victory Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cox, daughter of the late Egbert and Pauline Johnson Bruce was born in Duluth, Ga. on November 22, 1950. She grew up in Lawrenceville and graduated from Duluth High
School in 1968. When she was younger, she had lived in Grayson; Lawrenceville; Chesnee, SC; and later back to Lawrenceville.  In 1993, she and her family moved to Wilkes County.  She attended Victory Baptist Church.

She designed flowers for many years, owning her own florist in Duluth, Ga with her husband and later worked for Lovin’s Florist in Lawrenceville, Ga and Hendrick’s Florist in Washington, Ga.  Her hobbies included playing the piano.  She played in church many years for Meadow Baptist, Duluth, Ga and Brooklyn Baptist, Chesnee, SC.  Her greatest joy and interest was being a mother and grandmother as her family was her life. 

She is survived by her husband, Andrew Richard “Ricky” Cox; daughter, Sherri Cochran and husband Brad of Winder; sons, Shannon Cox and wife Juana of Winder, Shaun Cox and wife Ashley, Seth Cox and wife Dashia all of Washington; sister, Judy Tullis and husband Danny of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Andrew Cox, Emily Cox, Abigail Cochran, Ella Cochran, Meghan Cochran, Bradford Cochran, Alyssa Cochran, Aubrey Cox, Annabel Cox, Joshua Cox, James Cox, Hunter Cox, Haleigh Cox, Hayden Cox and Hinsley Cox.
