Mr. Bunch son of the late William Edward and Ellyn Jones Bunch was born on June 28, 1940 in Calhoun Falls, SC. He grew up in Tignall and graduated from WWCHS. His outgoing personality, wit and ability to make a friend out of a stranger in only a few minutes forged many lifelong friendships and opened the door for success in sales and other businesses throughout his life.
During his lifetime, he had worked as plant manager and service technician for PortaBuild, and later worked as a salesman for Tidewater Equipment. His entrepreneurial spirit led him into many successful business ventures. To mention a few, they include Tignall Hardware, Kum Bak Café, sawmilling and lastly selling and refurbishing golf carts. He enjoyed working mostly, visiting with his friends and telling jokes. For leisure, he camped and attended his grandchildren’s barrel racing competitions. Walter was a hard worker until the very end. On this past Saturday, he worked all day and became ill later Saturday night. Tignall, Georgia will never be the same without him but his memory will live in the hearts and minds of all that knew him.
Survivors include his son, Jay Troy Bunch of Tignall; daughter, Tammy Rhea Cordle and husband David of Tignall; sisters, Elaine Presnal of Carrollton, Ga and Joan Oglesby of Tignall; girlfriend, Joan Wilson; grandchildren, Jay Martin, Hope Martin, Krystal Bunch, and Jessie Fusco; great- grandchildren, Sumer Martin, Ramey Martin and Ivy Martin.
