Virginia "Sue" Williams Wilson Obituary

McDuffie County

Virginia “Sue” Williams Wilson, 75, Thomson, GA, entered into rest at her home on September 7, 2022.

Sue was born in Augusta, Georgia, on March 9, 1947. She moved to Thomson in 1963  and was a graduate of Thomson High school. Sue was self-employed and the owner of Pinehurst Interiors and  The Camellia House where she used the gifts God gave her in interior design. During her years at The Camellia House, she mentored young ladies who also had a passion for interior design, making a lifelong impact on these special ladies. Sue was a Christian by faith and a member of Thomson First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Friendship class, and was known for decorating the church for many occasions and seasons. She was a member of the Thomson Pine Needle Garden Club, where she enjoyed sharing her love and joy of decorating with flowers and giving flower arrangement workshops to her local friends. Sue loved spending time at Hilton Head Beach, working with flowers, watching and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and dearly loved her two schnauzers - Pepper and Lilly.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, George Luther Williams and Helen Toole Williams and by her sister, Barbara Harden Paige. Her survivors include her husband, James Edgar Wilson, III of Thomson, GA; her son James Wilson, IV (Carrie) of Kennesaw, GA; her grandchildren Jamie and Whitney; her sister, Jackie Milburn (David) of Huntsville, AL; her brother, George L. Williams, Jr. (Mae) of Warner Robins, GA.  Sue had a special and personal relationship with her many nieces and nephews, and she is also survived by her best friend, Janet Whatley, who has been her best friend since 9th grade and by Clyde Farr, a longtime friend and colleague.
