Vernice Hintz Obituary

Vernice Hintz

Vernice “Neicy” Hintz, 73, child of God, loving mother and friend, entered into the presence of the Lord on September 1 2020. She is preceded in death, and joyously welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Wesley and Dimple Meadows, sister Faye Widener, and son Clifford Hintz. She is survived by her children Michael (Lisa) Hintz of Aiken SC, Jerry (Season) Hintz of Columbia SC, Barbara Hintz of Harlem GA, and Patricia (Paul) Hobbs of Thomson GA; three siblings, Glenn Meadows (Tammie), Evans, GA, Gina Wright (Charlie), Jackson, SC, and Edie Casteel (Johnny), Thomson, GA. She is also survived by grandchildren including Dallas Coleman, Ashley Coleman, Jake Hobbs, Alex Hintz(Hannah), Aaron Hintz (Kristen), Jeremy Harvey, Drew Moore, Abygail Hintz, Benjamin Hintz, Andrew Hintz, Seth Hintz, Emerick Stone, Megan New along with 8 great grandchildren and lifelong friend Deanie Fielder.

Many have memories of time spent with Neicy in the kitchen, where she loved to bake cakes and desserts for others. She loved to share her passion for baking with her family, often spending all night in the kitchen telling her family how to properly grease the pan, fold in the egg whites, and get the piping details perfect.

Above all else Niecy loved her family deeply. As a single mother she worked hard to provide for her four children, setting an example of true strength and love. Her children have fond memories of nights where she let them pull their mattresses around the fireplace, and her outrunning all their friends in foot races during their teen years. Throughout the years she often cared for her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her door was always open for a meal, a hug, and advice. In her last few years of life one of her greatest joys was caring for her youngest great grandson, Broxton Richards. Children always brought a special light to Neicy’s eyes and her laughter could fill a room. Her presence on earth will be greatly missed but her family rejoices in knowing they will see her again one day.

Per CDC requirements the family will be observing social distancing and masks are requested. Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate all phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2020 in Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hixon officiating. Vernice will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family requests funeral guests wear masks.

In honor of Vernice the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to donate life.
