Veona Rainey Law
Thomson, GA – Mrs. Veona Rainey Law, 74, entered into rest January 7, 2020.
Mrs. Law was born in Piedmont, Alabama to the late Lloyd Reece Rainey and Muriel Dyer Rainey. She was one of nine children. Veona was a devoted pastor’s wife and together they served many churches in Georgia and Alabama for 47 years. She lived in Lincolnton before moving to Thomson in 2003. Veona was a member of the Christian Heritage Holiness Church. She worked with the State of Georgia and retired from the Department of Georgia Family and Children’s Services with over 20 years of service. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a grandson, Kenny Ray Law.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Law; daughters, Jerri Lynne Law of Thomson, GA and Sharon Marie Allison (Geoffrey) of Gainesville, GA; two sons, Kenny Law of Piedmont, Al and Todd Law (Amy) of St. Mary’s, GA; two brothers, L.D. Rainey of California and Rev. James Rainey of Centre, Alabama; one sister, Linda Pittman of Spring Garden, Alabama; grandchildren, Jordan Busse, Jacob Law, Christopher Law, Alexander Law, Payton Law, Annalise Law, Stetson Allison and Cole Allison; great grandchildren, Caleb, SaraBryn, Paisley, Bentley and Mason.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 10th at the Welcome Congregational Holiness Church in Cleveland, Georgia with Rev. Jimmy Peck and Rev. Ronald Wilson officiating. There will also be a Memorial Service held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 12th at Sharon Hill Congregational Holiness Church in Piedmont, Alabama.
