Tyler Drake Kent Obituary

Columbia County

Tyler “Drake” Kent, 30, Evans, Georgia, reunited with Christ on May 29, 2022.

Drake was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 4, 1992. He grew up in Thomson, Georgia, graduated from Thomson High School, attended Toccoa Falls College, and later moved to Evans, Georgia. He was a very talented musician and music producer. As a true servant of Christ, Drake contributed as a musician and worship leader for many churches in northeast Georgia, South Carolina, and the greater Augusta area. There isn’t a person in the world that met Drake that didn't immediately understand who he was and what he was passionate about. Drake made friends quickly and kept them for life. His dedication and loyalty to those close to him is the reason he made his friends feel more like family. When he married his life-long best friend Jenn, he found a connection deeper than all others. Drake lived a life full of laughter, sarcastic jokes, punchy one-liners, and serenading others through music and love. Drake stopped and kept any and everyone’s attention. He was intentional, thoughtful, loyal, passionate, and a constant. It goes without saying that Drake leaves behind a void; not just as a husband, son, brother, grandson, and friend, but as a tangible source of joy for anyone he ever encountered.

Drake’s survivors include his wife, Jennifer Kent; parents, Brian Kent and Kelley Tanner Kent; paternal grandparents, Vanessa and Keith Kent; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Tanner; brothers, Nathan, Brynly, and Seth Kent, Preston Wright, and Caden Kent; sister, Brittany Hinton; Aunt Barbara Hogan, Uncle Brant Tanner; mother-in-law, Robin Morey, brother-in-law, Josh Morey (Ashley); nephew, Cashton Hinton, all of Thomson; father-in-law Joe Morey of Evans, extended family, Carson and Pat Eick, Renee Wright (Jim), Cassidy and Dylan Wright, all of Thomson, and Courtney, David and Nora Jackson of Evans, and two well-loved pets, Beef and Luna.
