Mrs. Teresa Lynn Whitaker, 56, of McDuffie County – Entered into rest on April 16, 2021 at her residence.  

Mrs. Whitaker, the daughter of the late Robert “Bobby” Bedenbaugh and Elga Johnson Sturkie, was born in Augusta, Georgia.  She was a homemaker and lived most of her married life in McDuffie County.  She loved her family and friends and enjoyed flower gardening, being outdoors and being at the lake.  Mrs. Whitaker was Baptist by faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bobby” Bedenbaugh and Elga Johnson Sturkie, and her son, Jonathan Payne.   Her survivors include her Husband, Jeffery Whitaker; her children, Jeffery Whitaker, Jr., Christopher Payne, Laciann Whitaker and Crystal Hemley (Will); her brother, Lamar Sheehan; her sisters, Ashley Sheehan Goffstein, Jennifer Clark and Robin Clark; her grandchildren, Weston Hemley and Emma Kate Hemley. 

The family will hold a Memorial Service at Dearing Full Gospel Church, 5156 Adams Chapel Road, Dearing, Georgia 30808, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. 

Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing.  Masks are required and appreciated.
