Stephen Ross Snider was born on August 14, 1954 in Rome, Georgia to Dorothy Holloway Snider & Ralph Snider. At the age of 8, their family moved to Lincolnton, Georgia.
On January 9, 1972, Steve made a decision to follow Christ in the altar of Martin’s Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church and his life was forever changed. He knew the call of God to minister was on his life, and he immediately began telling people about the transformation he experienced when he received Christ.
Steve was a graduate of Lincoln County High School (’72), North Georgia Technical Institute (’73), Beulah Heights University (’03), and was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and being on the lake with his family. He was a pastor, evangelist, musician, songwriter, author, church-planter, and mentor. In his lifetime, Steve preached more than 12,000 times. Many people knew him as all of these things, but his greatest hope was that he would be known as “Servant of God.”
Steve is survived by his wife of 43 years, Robin Poss Snider; his children, Leah (Phillip) George, and Jared (Rebekah) Snider; his grandchildren Ellie, Harrison, Hudson, and Conley; his brothers Rollins Snider and Mike Snider, his mother-in-law, Emily Reese Leckie, and precious family members too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy Holloway Snider and Ralph Snider, his brother, Todd Snider, and his granddaughter, Abigail Christine Ogletree.
