Shawn Dingus
Thomson GA – Mr. Joseph Shawn Dingus, 43, entered into rest October 3, 2018.
Mr. Dingus was born in Falls Church, Virginia, but grew up in Thomson, GA. He played football while in school and was a 1992 graduate of Thomson High School. Shawn attended Augusta University where he studied voice and theatre. He had many interests and enjoyed singing, music, karaoke, theatre, going to the gym, and fishing. Shawn fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a Chef and was employed at HighRail Southern Eatery. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. Shawn was an avid Braves and Redskins fan and loved his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his parents; Michael Lynn “Mike” Dingus, Sr. and Peggy Story Dingus; brother, Michael Lynn Dingus, Jr. (Haley); sisters, April Dawn Dingus and Summer Melody Dingus; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Kitchens officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Dingus, Billy Alexander, Lee Dingus, Alan Bussell, Will Sims, Steve Blount, Jerry Stanphill, Jr., Frankie Quale, and Chef Mike McKinney. Honorary Pallbearers are Blair Howell, Eric Dingus, Blake Noggle, and Hunter Davis.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home prior to the service.
