Mrs. Ruth Marie C. Reese, 65, Warrenton, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2021.

Marie was born in Cordele, Georgia on July 11, 1956, grew up in the Cordele area and moved to Warrenton, Georgia 42 years ago.  Mrs. Reese’s career was an Office Manager at Serenity Mental Health for 35 years.  After retirement, Marie enjoyed real estate with her daughter, Katie at Meybohm Real Estate.  She was Methodist by faith and a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.  She also enjoyed traveling, camping, hiking and especially loved her children, family and friends.

Mrs. Reese is preceded in death by her parents, Olen Christmas and Leona Walls Christmas.  Her survivors include her beloved husband, Anthony Leon Reese of 46 years; her son, Travis Leon Reese (Emily); her daughter, Katie Marie Reese Newsome (Seth); and her sisters, Barbara L. Atherton, Margie McBryant, Sherry Long, Jane McCullough. 

Her Memorial Service, being officiated by Rev. Roger Canuel, will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia; Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. being one hour before the service at Beggs.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family’s personal guestbook.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK  73123.

Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing, and masks are requested and appreciated.  Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
