Roy “Tommy” Edward Thomas Jr.

Gordon, GA – Mr. Roy “Tommy” Edward Thomas Jr., 62, entered into rest January 30, 2020 at Navicent Health Hospital, Milledgeville, GA.

Mr. Thomas was born in Griffin, GA and lived in Warrenton, GA before moving to Gordon.  He was the son of the late Roy Edward Thomas Sr. and the late Ruth Kent Thomas.  Mr. Thomas worked in maintenance at Georgia Military College before his health declined.  He was a Baptist by faith and enjoyed the great outdoors, especially being on the river camping, fishing and spent many, many hours on the riverbanks searching for arrowheads and artifacts.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Wayne Thomas, brother-in-law, George Kitchens, and his beloved dog, Bullet.

Survivors include his son, Glyn Thomas (Michelle) of Edgehill, GA; sisters, Barbara Chalker of McIntyre, GA, Linda Hannah (Travis) of Greenhill, AL; Becky Hinton of Waynesboro, GA, Sandra Kitchens of Stapleton, GA, Cathy Lamb (Harold) of Edgehill, GA, and Alice Hardin (Tim) of Washington, GA; many nieces and nephews; and his bulldog, Harley.

The family will have a private memorial service on a later date.
