Mr. Robert Coleman Rice, Jr., was born on June 7, 1939 in Waycross, Georgia to the late Robert C. Rice, Sr. and Frances Sharpe Rice and went to his final resting place on February 2, 2021.
Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Robert Rice; his daughter, Robin Wells; and his sister, Cathy Love. He is survived by his wife, Julia R. Rice (Robbie); his daughter, Julie R. House and her husband, Eric; six grandchildren, Jessie Wells, Christopher Goodwin, Alex Hamilton, Halie Rice, Amanda Matthews and Jason Rice; and several great grandchildren.
Mr. Rice served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
On August 10, 1962, Robert married Julia Roberts “Robbie” after meeting in Augusta, Georgia where “Robbie” attended the Barrett School of Nursing, and he was a soldier at Ft. Gordon. The couple made their home in Orlando, Florida where Robert served as a Sheriff’s Officer and Robbie was a nurse, and they raised three children there. In 1992, Robert and Robbie moved to Crawfordville, Georgia where they enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time together with family and friends.
Memorial graveside services will be held at Crawfordville Cemetery, Crawfordville, Georgia on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Nelson Goddard, officiating.
Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing, and masks are requested and appreciated. Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
