Richard “Buck” Anthony Anderson, 64, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on September 17, 2022.

Buck was born in Washington, Georgia on September 16, 1958.  He was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and attended Thomson High School.  He worked at Two State for over 20 years and retired as a superintendent.  Buck was Baptist by faith and was known for helping others.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working and working on cars.  Buck’s greatest passion was his children and grandchildren.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents Richard Anderson and Mary Grace Walker Anderson and his sisters, Christine Chaney and Sherrie Lovvorn.  His survivors include his devoted wife of 44 years, Noreen Rowland Anderson; his son, Bobby Anderson of Thomson, GA, his daughter, Becky McGhee (Marcus) of Martinez, GA; his children of heart, Tiffany Gregg and Jason Manning; his brothers, John Anderson and Joe Anderson of Thomson, GA; his sister, Gloria Barton of Graniteville, SC; and his grandchildren, Madelyn McGhee, Reagan McGhee and Luke McGhee.

Buck’s visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia, and his Funeral Service, being officiated by Rev. Charles Reese, will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the interment following at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia.  Pallbearers for the service are Bobby Anderson, Marcus McGhee, Harvey Brown, Edgar Hendricks, Derek Brooks and Mark Wilson.  Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Cushman and Freddie Gay.
