Mr. Raymond Chandler Whitworth, 80 of Loco Church Rd., Lincolnton, Ga. entered into rest on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at University Hospital McDuffie.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitworth, son of the late Troy C. and Frances Carswell Whitworth, was born on March 27, 1939 in Greer, S.C. He spent most of his childhood in Maryland. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in the late 1950’s. He retired from Milliken after serving almost 40 years as a development manager during which he travelled between the mills frequently troubleshooting and perfecting the quality of new weave designs. Also, he was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Crook Whitworth; his daughter, Patricia Clark and husband Daniel; his son, Kenneth Wellmaker and wife Melanie; brother, Jimmy Whitworth and wife Patricia; four grandchildren Michele Covington and husband Keith, Michael White and wife Mallory, Jake Hutto and wife Angel, and Magen Wellmaker; nine great- grandchildren, Lea Gibbons, Dylan White, Jordan Hutto, Kaelyn Covington, Caleb White, Maddie White, Molly Rae (his namesake) Covington, Miller White and Luke Covington; sister-in-law, Carolyn Crook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Blake Wellmaker and brother-in-law, Albert Crook.
