Mr. Norman Francis Selby, 78, Harlem, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2021.
Norman was born in Iowa City, Iowa on April 13, 1943, grew up in Iowa, graduated from Greenburg, Kansas High School and in his later years moved to the Augusta area and has lived in Harlem for 17 years. He was Baptist by faith and has been a member of Shepherd’s Church in Harlem for over 5 years. Mr. Selby’s career was an over the road truck driver with Kennesaw Transportation in White, Georgia. He enjoyed fishing, Ham radio operating, woodworking, making ink pens and bowls was his specialty. Norman never met a stranger, loved talking was a baker, (making homemade apple and cherry pies for which he won awards). He was a Citizen on Patrol member, Ham Club Member, and Instructor for J & M Truck Lines. Mr. Norman loved animals (in particular his dog Huck), loved his friends and especially loved his family
Mr. Selby is preceded in death by his parents, Verlin Eugene Selby and Emogene Geraldine Ross Selby; his son Gerald Richard Morgan; his daughter, Crystal Cannon; his grandchildren, Tony Bellemy and Bobby Dale Hutto, Jr. His survivors include his loving wife, Geraldine Clem Selby of 16 years of Harlem; his son, Bobby Dale Hutto, Sr. (Susie) of Harlem; his daughters, Angela Slaughter (John) of Harlem, Stacy Reeves Robinson (Danny) of McBean; Nancy Dalby (Ricky) of Texas; his sister, Velma Bosley (Bill) of Iowa; his Grandchildren, Dakota Dalby, William Dalby, Tara Burgess (Brandon), Speedy Baughman (Brittany), Ricky Baughman, Josh Snead (Stephanie), Renee Page, Brandon Wade Hutto, Kayla Reeves (Eric), Justin Reeves; great grandchildren, Cody Blanchard, Paige Blanchard, Jordan Page, Brooke Page, Shiannah Hutto, Olivia Kate McBroom, Sydney Baughman, Charlotte Baughman, Arianna Snead, Ryleigh Snead, Jaycee Snead, Kaylee Snead, Landon Snead, Layla Bellemy; and great great grandchild, Chloe Sophia Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
His Memorial Service, being officiated by Chaplain Doyle Windham, will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia with visitation being held at 1:00 p.m., being one hour before the service at Beggs.
