Mr. Donald "Donnie" Lee Hadden Obituary

Mr. Donald “Donnie” Lee Hadden, 71, of Thomson, Georgia, entered into rest on August 11, 2021.

Mr. Hadden was born in Wrens, Georgia on April 9, 1950, and grew up in McDuffie County.  He was the son of the late Learod Hadden and the late Barbara Key Hadden Armstrong.  Donnie was a mechanic by trade, worked at McTiers Used Auto Parts for 22 years before going to work for the City of Thomson in the gas and water maintenance department from where he retired.  He loved being outdoors, horseback riding, raising chickens and especially loved his family and friends.  Donnie was Baptist by faith and was a Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Hadden was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Joshua Hadden, Sr., his brothers, Jimmy Hadden and Kenny Hadden, and his granddaughter, Tobi Coleman.  His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pat Meadows Hadden; his sons, Travis Hadden (Andrea) of Mitchell, Georgia and Jonathan “Oot” Hadden (Kim) of Thomson, Georgia; his daughter, Tassie Hadden West of Mitchell, Georgia; his daughter-in-laws, Jessie Hicks (Jeff) of Warrenton, Georgia and Crissy Fisher of Thomson, Georgia; his brothers, Bobby Gene Hadden of Boneville, Georgia, Robbie Hadden (Judy) of Thomson, Georgia, Jesse Hadden of Dearing; and his sister, Pam Johnson (Wayne) of Boneville, Georgia.  He is also survived by his Grandchildren, T. J. Hadden (Savannah), Zoe Hadden, Joshua Hadden, Jr., Jailey Hicks, Brian West, Jaxon Hicks, Jude Hadden, Ella Hadden, Henry Hadden, and great grandchildren, Kezia Hadden and Luna Hadden.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Bethel Baptist Church Pavilion, 2290 Whiteoak Road, Thomson, Georgia with the Funeral Service being held at the Bethel Baptist Church Pavilion at 10:00 a.m. following the visitation, with Pastor Tim Ferrell officiating.  The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia.  Pallbearers are Travis Hadden, Jonathan “Oot” Hadden, Jeff Hicks, T. J. Hadden, Joshua Hadden, Jr., Brian West.  Honorary pallbearers are Jaxon Hicks, Jude Hadden and Henry Hadden.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family’s personal guestbook.
