Michael Nelson Norris, 69, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on November 16, 2022.

Michael was born in Augusta, Georgia on November 28, 1952, grew up in Thomson, Georgia and lived in Thomson all his life.  He retired from shipping and receiving at GIW after having worked for them for many years. Michael  was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan and golf, riding dirt roads with friends and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Jack Clinton Norris and his brother Jack Norris, Jr.  His survivors include his wife of 50 years, Debbie Allen Norris; his mother, Ann Hutt Norris; his son, Cory Norris (Jill); his daughter, April Norris Newsome (Buddy); his sister, Betty Anne Norris; and his grandchildren, Chandler Newsome, Madi Norris, Lindsey Newsome and Maci Norris; and his special great-niece, Ashleigh Cushman.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia.  His Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family’s personal guestbook.
