Michael “Mikey” Joe Chandler, Jr., 37, of Thomson, GA, entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2022 in Augusta, GA.

Born on May 7, 1985 in Santa Rosa, CA, he was the son of Michael Chandler, Sr. and Brandi Van Pelt. Mikey married the love of his life, Joyce Lynn, on November 11, 2011.

Mikey loved taking care of his family, playing the drums, keeping his yard and flowers looking great, working at Walmart, and especially helping others as much as he could. He shared his passion for drums with his son, Skyler. Mikey was an energetic, upbeat, happy soul whose friendly, excited and cheerful personality infected everyone he met. Since helping others was his passion, his organs were donated through LifeLink of Georgia so he could leave a legacy that would help others in need of life saving treatments.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Joyce and their sons Skyler Chandler, Austin Stevens, Justin Stevens and Brendan Chandler; his father Michael Chandler and wife Amy; mother Brandi Van Pelt and husband Steve; brothers Brett Chandler (Darci), James Chandler (Jessica) and Austin “AJ” Chandler; sisters Joyel Watkins (Chris) and Summer Luther (Ricky); a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; his Walmart family and a wealth of friends.

A memorial to celebrate Mikey’s life will be held at Beggs Funeral Home in Thomson, GA with Rev. Reginald Blakewood officiating on August 9, 2022. Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 with service at 3:00 pm.
