Max Howard McTier
Mr. Max Howard McTier, 81, of Thomson, GA entered into rest Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Doctors Hospital.
Mr. Mctier was born in Jefferson County, but lived most of his life in McDuffie County. He was the son of the late Macon McTier and Myrtis Smith McTier. Max worked at Thomson Company and was a member of Second Baptist Church. As a young boy Max ran a paper route to make extra money. He loved his God, Family and dogs. Max was very active in his church and was past chairman of the brotherhood committee at Marshall Baptist Church, where he also served as Deacon. Max was a friend to everyone and will be greatly missed. Mr. McTier was predeceased by his parents, brothers, and daughters, Sherry McTier and Luann Levesque.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Deborah Powers McTier, sons, Mike McTier (Tabitha) and Tim McTier (Sherry); sister, Barbara Ann Bryant; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in Second Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Jenkins and Rev. Don Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would appreciate any phone calls, emails, cards and text messages during this time. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
