Mary Jones McGahee

Mary Essie Jones McGahee, 95, of Dearing, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior March 11, 2018, surrounded by her family.

She was the widow of William Hugh McGahee. The daughter of the late Walton Mitchell Jones and the late Marie Dunaway Jones she was born Dec 9, 1922 in Harlem, GA. She was blessed to have a close loving family, brother Albert Jones (Lois) and five sisters, Cathryn Sanders (Frank), Eleanor Blazer (Jake), Marguerite Williams (Bill), Lillie Gay (John), and Belle Braswell, all who preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Steve McGahee (Gail) of Dearing, GA; grandsons, Ryan McGahee of N. Augusta, SC, DJ McGahee (Crystal) of Harlem, GA, Clayton Dains-McGahee (Mary Anne) of Grovetown, GA and Jason Crump (Kathy) of Martinez, GA, 15 great grandchildren, brother–in-law, Bill Williams of Augusta, Ga and a host of nieces and nephews and many loving friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Regency Hospice, especially Karen George RN, Gwen Kitchens and Amy Greene.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Dearing Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Timmerman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
