Mr. Marvin Dunn, 83, of Hobbs Road, Dearing, Georgia entered into rest March 11, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Dunn was born in Hancock County, GA to the late Gordon Dunn and the late Annie Cheely Dunn. He grew up in Thomson and played football for the Thomson Bulldogs. Following graduation from Thomson High School in 1958, he served in the U. S. Army National Guard for over 10 years. He retired as the manager of Rex Auto Parts after many years of service. He was a faithful member of Fort Creek Baptist where he served as a Trustee, a devoted member of the Katie Harrison Sunday School Class and the church Brotherhood. Mr. Dunn was a founding member of the Pea Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for many years. He enjoyed watching football, woodworking and working on automobiles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Hobbs Dunn and daughter, Michelle Dunn Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Robbie Hillman Dunn; son, Tony Dunn (Beth), daughter, Angie Talkington (Michael Parris); step children, Lisa Schell (Steve), Stephen Hillman; sister-in-law, Linda Holliman (Clarence); special niece, Jenny Thaxton; grandchildren, Chris Dunn, (Melanie), Candice Dunn (Drew Lawson), Michael Talkington (Emily), Jonathan Talkington (Dawn), Emily Greene, Stephanie Stewart, Hunter Schell, Morgan Hillman, Kimberly McCarthy, and Kenneth Holley, Jr.; and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, March 13, 2023 at Fort Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Martin and Pastor Tracy Ivester officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Dunn, Michael Talkington, Jonathan Talkington, Kenneth Holley, Hunter Schell and Rushea Mack. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Pea Ridge Fire Department and members of the Katie Harrison Sunday School Class.
