Martha (Mitchell) Smith

Ms. Martha Mitchell Smith, 87, of Martinez, Georgia passed from this life into the arms of her heavenly Father on March 19, 2022. Please join us in a visitation of her life at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022 in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Thomson, Georgia.  Her Memorial Service will follow the visitation at Thomson United Methodist Church with Dr. Steve Dodson and Rev. Martha was born and raised in Tifton, Georgia on January 17, 1935, and has lived most of her life in Thomson, Georgia.  She was a Methodist by faith and attended Dalraida United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. She retired from being a nanny after 20 years and spent the remainder of her life spending time with her family and friends.  Her family was her heart and soul.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents Monroe Barr Mitchell, Sr. and Jessie Douglas Mitchell; her son, Charles Douglas Smith; her grandson, Preston Smith; and her sister, Sara Burrows. She is survived by her children, Robin Dudley (Mike), Karen Smith (Denice), Kelly Human and Scott Smith (Nicole); grandchildren, Bennett Dudley (Mary Rae), Dawn Sanders (Brad), Krystal Human, Lacey Smith, Aubree Smith, Cameron Smith and Brooke Smith; and five great grandchildren.
