Martha Feinstein Obituary

Martha C. Feinstein (‘Mimi’ to her grandchildren), devoted wife and mother, departed
this world peacefully after lengthy illnesses on December 30 2021 at her daughter and
son-in-law’s home in Clarks Hill, SC. She was born in Nashville, TN to parents, Eddean
and Ben Chrisman, where she lived until 2011 when she relocated with her husband to
Augusta, GA.
Martha graduated from Central High School in Nashville where she was the
Valedictorian and a member of one of the first Student Government Associations of the
south. She also attended George Peabody College for Teachers (now a part of Vanderbilt
University) and was an active member of Franklin Road First Christian church for over
35 years. While balancing being a mother and homemaker, she worked for many years
as secretary and administrative assistant in businesses, schools and churches, including
Antioch High School and Glendale United Methodist Church.
Martha liked to read, watch birds, basketball and ice-skating as well as Wheel of Fortune
and Jeopardy! She loved to listen to music and sing in groups, especially classic hymns.
She loved to laugh and was known by her family and friends for being smart, softspoken
and sweet. One of her pleasures was to gather at family reunions and holiday potlucks
with cousins, aunts and uncles on her father’s family farm in Triune, TN.
She is predeceased by her parents, her younger brother Ben, her son-in-law, Frank
Corrigan, and her husband of 68 years, David T. Feinstein (Tim). She leaves behind to
honor her memory, her children Diane Sarber (Michael), Julie Corrigan, Brian Feinstein
(Rosa), grandchildren Jason, Justin, Kaitlen, Wade, Hayley and Jack; great-
grandchildren Skyler and Wyatt; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like
to express heartfelt gratitude to her special caregiver and friend, Rosemary Gilman, and
all the hospice aides and nurses who assisted with her care.
A graveside service will be held at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens in Thomson,
Georgia at 2:00 p.m. on January 6, 2022 with Mark Bowers officiating.
