Mr. Douglas MacArthur “Mack” Truitt, 79 of Washington Hwy., Lincolnton, Ga. entered into rest on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Pruitt Health Care, Washington.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2pm at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Truitt was born on June 8, 1942 in Wilkes County, Ga. and was raised in Tignall by Jabe Truitt and his mother Doris Truitt. He graduated from Tignall High School and worked for Almar Manufacturing for many years before becoming disabled. His interests included watching the news, going to Hardee’s, and tending to his goats. He was a gentle man with a kind spirit who was faithful to Rehoboth Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Martin Truitt, brothers, Alfred Truitt, Albert Truitt, Jabe Truitt, Jr., Morris Truitt, W.F. Truitt, Bobby Gene Truitt, sisters, Peggy Stewart and Nancy Powell; and step-mother, Dora Truitt.
Survivors include two sisters, Lucy Wallace and husband Gene of Elberton and Terri Williamson and husband, Clay of Gainesville; Godson Al Danner, III of Evans and caregivers, Brenda Danner McGahee, Jan Danner and Ann Walker.
Memorial contributions may be made to Forces United, Augusta or Rehoboth Baptist Church.
