Lee Roy Usry, 94, of Stapleton, Georgia entered into rest September 24, 2021.
Mr. Usry was born in Avera, Georgia to the late Cleon Usry and the late Bessie McTier Usry. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as an illustrator from Savannah River Plant. Mr. Usry lived in the pan handle of Warren County most of his life and was a member and inactive Deacon of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. He enjoyed cattle farming and loved going to the lake and beach. In addition to his parents, Mr. Usry was predeceased by his wife, Nell Simons Usry and Laverne Huff Usry.
Survivors include his daughters, Jerry McTier (Mansel) and Cindy Purvis (Joey); sisters, Frankie Nelson and Nora Griffin; grandchildren, Troy McTier (Carol), Tara McWaters (Dale), Tripp McTier (Erica), Brian Purvis (Tab), Brooke Howard (Robbie), and Brent Purvis; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 27th at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Roy Frierson officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.
