Mr. John Charles “Chuck” Carroll, 61 of Thomson, Ga. entered into rest on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at University Hospital, Augusta.
Mr. Carroll was born on December 12, 1959 in Lawrenceville, Ga. and graduated from Central Gwinnett High School. He moved from the Gwinnett area to Lincoln County in 1998 and was currently living in Thomson. Since then, he had been employed by Lincoln County Public Works for over 10 years and later for All Star Concrete and C&H Paving. He was a member of St Paul United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of Trustees, and enjoyed cooking for the 5th Sunday breakfast. In years past, he had served on the Midway Volunteer Fire Dept., Lincolnton Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce and had been a charter member of Clarks Hill Bee Club. His enjoyment was attending any sporting or academic events that his grandchildren were involved in and anything that included farming, tractors and baling hay.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Ferguson Carroll; mother, Mrs. Billie Hinson Carroll; son, Russell Aycock and companion Sarah Scott of Lincolnton; daughters, Britney A. Johnson and husband Sam of Warrenton; Marcianne A. Alligood and husband Ben of Lincolnton; brothers, Thomas K. Still of Monroe, Paul H. Carroll of Lawrenceville; sister, Lorrie Mortimer of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Aaron Johnson, Mary Kathryn “Poppy’s Girl” Johnson, and Alex Johnson. His father, Johnny Carroll preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 4pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 3pm until the hour of the funeral at the church.
