Mr. Jeffrey Todd “Jeff” Tyler, 56 entered into rest on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at his family farm near Tignall, Ga.
Jeff was born on June 20, 1965 in Washington, Ga. and a 1983 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School. During his childhood and teenage years, he was very active in the Georgia 4-H program where he was a 4 time Master 4-Her and camp counselor at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton. Throughout his college years at the University of Georgia Jeff was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management/Insurance.
Upon graduation, Jeff spent a brief stint in Valdosta, Georgia working with Federated Insurance and then moved to Washington, DC where he spent most of his life working with Marsh McLennan where he was a Senior Vice President in the Casualty Practice. In Washington, DC, Jeff had a loving community of friends and neighbors and enjoyed cooking, entertaining and traveling the globe.
Jeff leaves behind his mother, Kay Tyler of Washington, Georgia; his twin brother, Greg Tyler and sister-in-law, Gena Tyler of Hoschton, Georgia; his nephews, Jordan Tyler and his wife, Caitlin of Navarre, Florida; Caleb Tyler of Washington, DC and niece, Sydney Tyler of Athens, Georgia; grandmother, Mildred Tyler of Tignall; and his French bulldog, Cash; uncles and aunts, Richard and Carolyn Gammon; Allen and Faye Tyler, David and Judy Tyler. His father, Alex Linsay Tyler and his sister, Sheryl Suzanne Tyler preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Jeff's name to the Georgia 4-H Foundation, 306 Hoke Smith Annex, Athens, GA 30602 or online at: http://www.georgia4hfoundation.org/general-donation. 4-H was very important to Jeff, therefore a special fund is being established so that children in Georgia can attend 4-H camp for years to come.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11 am at Tignall Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Tyler Farm. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
