Jeanette Reese Jenkins, 87, of Grovetown, GA, entered into rest on July 24, 2023. She was born in Edgehill, GA on June 9, 1936, the sixth child of eleven to Hartwell and Florie Williford. Jeanette had such a beautiful spirit.
Jeanette, “Net”, to those whom she held dear, was a woman with an infectious smile, vibrant personality and a heart full of love. She had many hobbies which included ballroom dancing, gardening and adding her special touch to everything. She held true to the statement of laughter is the best medicine and telling loved ones to laugh every chance they got. Jeanette loved children and ran a daycare for many years in Thomson. She was known near and wide for her highly requested chocolate cake.
Services will be held at Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church, 7519 Edgehill-Mitchell Rd., Mitchell, GA 30820, on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 3:00 pm. Rev. Lester Jenkins will be officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends prior to service beginning at 1:30 pm. Pallbearers will be Craig Jenkins, Darrel Helman, Troy Williford, Jimmy Lamb, Wallace Smith and Steve Williford. Alternate pallbearers are Bobby Williford and Les Lamb.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Hartwell and Florie Williford; sister, Martha Lamb; brothers, Walter Williford, Mervin Williford, JW Williford, and Hilton Williford. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Charlie Jenkins of Grovetown; sons, Dwight Reese (Teresa) of Gibson, Dennis Reese of Augusta and Kevin Hendrickson of Georgia; granddaughter, Michelle Reese of Gibson; step children, Caryn Golden (Mike) of AL and Craig Jenkins (Susan) of Lugoff, SC; sisters, Doris Glover (Olin) of Sandersville, Catherine Norris (James) of Sandersville, and Wanda Currie (WL) of Dublin; brothers, Terrell Williford (Helen) of Gibson and Wayne Williford (Mavis) of Sandersville; Sister-in-Law, Anna Williford of Macon and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will gather at the home of Dwight and Teresa Reese, Gibson, GA.
