Mrs. Mary Jean Marshall Shelton, 77 formerly of Lincolnton, Ga. entered into rest on Friday, April 24, 2020 at Lake Crossing Health Care, Appling.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Lincolnton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Shelton was born on June 22, 1942 in Wilkes County and grew up in Thomson. She had lived in Lincolnton most of her life, was a seamstress and had been employed by FDB. In recent years when her health permitted, she attended the Lincoln County Senior Center daily where she enjoyed playing bingo. She was of the holiness faith. Her parents, Lloyd and Juanita Marshall, along with her stepmother Nadine Marshall, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Freeman and wife Pam of Lincolnton, Don Freeman and wife Shirley of Wrens; daughter, Paula F. Callaway and husband Dennis of Lincolnton; brothers, Earl Marshall of Batesburg, Johnny Marshall of Wrens, Rodney Marshall of North Carolina, Myron Marshall of Tignall; sisters, Pat Thrush of Batesburg and Pam Gay of Tignall; grandchildren, Austin Freeman, Dakota Freeman, Cody Freeman, Dalton Freeman, and Russell Callaway; 4 great- grandchildren.
