Saint Augustine, Florida - Mrs. Janice Rea Dendler, 83, humble and faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ for sixty-seven years, was welcomed home on September 21, 2023.
Janice, “Jann,” was born in Berea, Kentucky to the late William David and Annie Pearson Henry. She graduated from Lockland High School in 1958 and began working at Vurg Brothers Pharmacy, where she met her husband, Dr. Charles Richard Dendler. Shortly after meeting Dr. Dendler, he led Jann to Christ and the two were married on April 10, 1959. Together and according to His purpose, Jann and Dr. Dendler faithfully and lovingly served churches throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, Jann was an in-home sales consultant for Tupperware, Caroline Emmons Jewelry, and earned her real estate license with Joann Risner Realtors in Owensboro, Kentucky. Additionally, Jann worked as an administrative assistant for Katz Teller Law Firm of Cincinnati, Ohio until her retirement in 2002. Jann served Sweetwater Baptist Church of Thomson, Georgia and Florence Baptist Church of Florence, Kentucky along with several other churches as a Sunday School teacher until Dr. Dendler’s retirement in 2004. Jann and Dr. Dendler returned to Thomson, Georgia, eventually answering the call to serve at Blythe Baptist Church. Jann had a devout love for reading and studying her bible as well as crocheting. While Jann had no siblings of her own, she lovingly referred to Annetta Waller and Lorraine Head as her dear sisters.
