Mrs. Jane Guillebeau Mattison, 79, of Guillebeau Street, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Augusta University Medical Center.
Jane was a 1962 graduate of Lincolnton High School, longtime resident of Lincolnton and member of Lincolnton Baptist Church. Her career of several decades as an insurance agent began in 1979 with Drinkard Insurance Agency which later merged with Franklin Insurance Agency. In addition to serving her church, she was also a member of the City of Lincolnton Planning and Zoning Board for many years.
She was small but mighty, the epitome of a servant’s heart, a tireless fan of her children and grandchildren, a kitchen magician, a staunch believer in a thank you note, a made bed, and a “straight house”, and a sucker for a Diet Coke and a “little something sweet”. Most importantly, she had an unmovable faith and never doubted that she would be cured of her cancer, and she was.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11th at 3:30 p.m. at Lincolnton Baptist Church with Rev. Tripp Goodwin officiating.
The family will receive friends for a dessert reception and visitation immediately following the service at the family farm located at 1324 Elberton Highway, Lincolnton.
Survivors include two sons, James F. “Jim” Mattison, IV and wife, Janice and Harvey Guillebeau “Guil” Mattison and wife, Christie; her daughter, Britt Mattison McKinney and husband, Mark, and her grandchildren Julianne Mattison, Thomas Guil Mattison, James Patrick Mattison, Katherine Britt McKinney, and Robert Benjamin McKinney.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harvey Jordan Guillebeau and Rachel Drinkard Guillebeau, her brother, Robert Franklin “Bob” Guillebeau, her husband, James Frank “Butch” Mattison, III, and her grandson, Colen Floyd “Cole Baby” Mattison.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Lincolnton Baptist Church at PO Box 357, Lincolnton, GA 30817.
