James Delano Clark, 79, Norwood, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2022.
James was born in Augusta, Georgia on November 18, 1942, to James Robert Clark and Inez Bryant Clark. He was a devoted Christian and spent his life making sure that family and friends knew “his Lord and Savior”. He was an active member for many years of Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta. After retirement, he and Gloria moved to Thomson and joined First Baptist Church there. When they moved to the country to the Mayo Farmhouse in 2019, they joined New Providence Baptist Church near Norwood.
James was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was very proud of his service to his country.
Other than his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Coley, Gary, and Spencer Clark; sister, Marian Schiller; son-in-law, Ken Kitchens and granddaughter, Hannah Marie Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Gloria Mayo Clark; daughters, Suzy Ivey (Billy), Augusta; Tracy Drawdy (Richard), Augusta; Angela Johnson (Bryan), Gibson; and Alice Gary (Russell), Thomson; brothers, Mark Clark and Bruce Clark (Linda), Martinez; sisters Deborah McNeal (Ted), Augusta; and Virginia Hamm, El Paso, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and the entire Mayo Family.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia and will be officiated by Dr. David Lambert and Rev.
