Mr. James David Nicholson, 43 of Green Acres Rd., Lincolnton entered into rest on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Walker T. Norman Gymnasium, Lincolnton, Georgia.
Mr. Nicholson was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in Augusta, Georgia. He graduated Harlem High School in 1995. At the age of 16, he became a volunteer firefighter in Appling, Georgia. Mr. Nicholson went on to complete his firefighter training and was employed by the Augusta Fire Department. After working as a firefighter for years, he went on to graduate from Paramedic school and worked with many EMS providers including Lincoln County EMS, Gold Cross EMS, Southstar EMS, and McDuffie County EMS. David enjoyed riding his Harley with his son and was a member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club. Mr. Nicholson had a very deep love for his family and his community. In his niece Vada’s words, he lived by his oath of the Iron Order aiding each and every person, and cherishing and comforting each and everyone that he came in contact with.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Nicholson and friend Molly Anderson of Kissimmee, FL; mother, Amelia Louise Cline of Lincolnton; companion, Laura Wayland; sisters, Robyn Eackloff and husband Barry of Augusta, Leslie Kathleen Hermanns of Lincolnton, and Julia Vratsolis and husband Billy of Naples, FL; nieces and nephews, Holden Eackloff, Julian Eackloff, Vada Hermanns, Dade Hermanns, and Christian Vratsolis; uncle and aunt, John and Cheryl Cook of Appling; and a host of very special cousins; father, James Everett Nicholson of Tennessee and other family, Celeste Horsman of London, England.
