Mr. James A Thayer, 92, of 805 Sturbridge Court, McCormick, SC entered into Heaven on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at home.
Mr. Thayer, son of the late Stanley and Floy Fleaner Thayer was born January 2, 1930 in Tucson, AZ where he grew up and graduated from Tucson High School, then the University of Tucson, AZ and afterwards served in the US Army during the Korean War, Upon returning home, he attended International Foreign Trade School where he learned computer and electronics. He was a pioneer in the computer and electronics industry and lived in California and Mexico during his career that spanned many decades. While in Mexico, he retired and later moved to Savannah Lakes almost 15 years ago. Jim attended Lutheran Church by the Lake. His pride and joy were his yard and Koi pond.
He is survived by wife, Jeanne Blanchek Thayer; son, Dr. Stanley Thayer and wife Rebecca of New Brighton, MN; daughter, Margaret Thayer of Yucaipa, CA; son, James Thayer and wife Camilla of Danville, CA; grandchildren, Weston Thayer and wife Samantha, Audrey Thayer and fiancé Christopher Brobeck, Melissa Thayer, Robbie Thayer, and Matthew Thayer; great- grandson, Ian James Thayer; bonus children, Tiffany Carlson Serantino, Brian Carlson, and Kristina Blanchek; two bonus granddaughters, Catherine and Megan Carlson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Marlin Wilson Thayer, wife, Janice Carlson Thayer, and brother, Gerald Thayer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
A Celebration of Life will be on July 9, 2022 at 1pm at The Lutheran Church By The Lake. Fellowship will immediately follow at their home located at 805 Sturbridge Court, McCormick, SC.
