Mr. James Wayne Harding, 68 of Dixie Lane, Lincolnton, Ga. entered into rest on Friday, November 6, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 2 p.m. at New Work Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Double Branches Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Mr. Harding, son of the late James Benjamin and Hortense Williams Harding, was a native of Bennettsville, SC and served in the US Marines during Vietnam. Following his military service, he moved to Lincoln County in 1971.
A second generation cabinet maker, Wayne worked with his father until his death and has continued the family business, Harding’s Cabinets until recently when he turned it over to his son, Ben.
Wayne was a charter member of New Work Baptist Church where he helped with much of the construction of the building, worked with the youth and served as an usher for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandy Smith Harding and father-in-law, Bernard Smith.
He is survived by his son, Ben Harding and wife Tiffany of Lincolnton; daughter, Holly Thomas and husband Paul of Harlem; brother, Gary Harding of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Kristen Harding, Brianna Harding, Caleb Harding, Austin Harding, Wayne Blanton and Spencer Thomas; mother-in-law, Mrs. Jimmie Smith.
Mr. Harding and his late wife, Sandy were very proud of Kristie Reville Ty's ministry she in Cambodia and the family's wish is that memorials be made to Ark International Ministries, for Kristie Reville Ty, Cambodia, P.O. Box 10123, Augusta, Ga 30903
