Mrs. Inez Mallory Watson Stephens, 101, of Thomson, Georgia, entered into rest on June 25, 2021, and is now walking in the Presence of her Lord and Savior.
Mrs. Stephens was born in Register, Georgia on September 7, 1919. She was the daughter of Frankie Inez Register and Karl Watson. The Bulloch County native lived in Register, Georgia for 44 years before moving to Thomson, Georgia.
She was married to her High School sweetheart, Gherard Collins Stephens, for 47 years. One of the cherished highlights of her courtship was when she traveled to Washington DC with him on his senior trip.
She was a homemaker and her happiest moments were spent preparing meals for her family. She always took pleasure in honoring friends and loved ones during all of life’s special occasions, but her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would say “my children are so good to me”.
After retiring from 17 years of service with the Thomson Company she was actively involved in catering events with her dear friends Maggie McDaniel and Susan Wiley. Inez was a faithful member of the Thomson First United Methodist Church and the OSME Sunday School Class. She loved her church and they loved her. She enjoyed serving in different ministries such as the nursery, Wednesday night suppers, WMU and Sunshine Club. She was also a member of the FBC Young at Heart where she enjoyed the friendship and fellowship.
Mrs. Stephens was an inspiration to all, as she lived out her life loving others and faithfully serving the Lord. Her legacy of faith, wisdom, and love will go on for generations to come. She will live in our hearts through the memories we all have of her sweet spirit.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the caregivers and neighbors who were so kind and loving to her. She loved you all like her family.
