Hilda Gray Perry

Mrs. Hilda Gray Perry, 81, Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest on September 30, 2021.

Hilda was born and raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on December 22, 1939. She met the love of her life, Bob Perry, and they married in 1955.  They traveled throughout his Army career and came to the Appling area in 1975 where they established a farm and raised their family.  Later she transitioned from a homemaker to the accounting department at Georgia Iron Works and then onto Augusta State University where she retired.  She was Baptist by faith and a member of West Acres Baptist Church for over 20 years.  She loved playing piano, baking, cooking, and especially loved spending quality time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Perry is preceded in death by her parents, Horace Groves and Mildred Groves Gupton; her husband, Robert F. Perry, Jr.; her sons, James Robert Perry and Joseph Wayne Perry; and her sister, Barbara Odom (Billy).  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Leigh Culpepper (Al) of Thomson, Georgia and Terresa Dupeire (Lawrence) of Aiken, South Carolina; her grandchildren Russell Eberl, Christine E. McClellan (Thomas), Brian Culpepper, Devin Key, and Lauren Key; and her great grandchildren Layne McClellan and Emyrson McClellan.

Visitation Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at West Acres Baptist Church. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Malone Morris, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Old Kiokee Cemetery, Shucraft Road, Appling, Georgia 30802.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family’s personal guestbook.
