Gordon Arrington, Sr.

Crawfordville, GA- Mr. Gordon Arrington, Sr., 94, entered into rest April 12, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Boyd Reeves officiating.

Mr. Arrington was born in McDuffie County, Georgia and was the son of the late George Washington Arrington and the late Ruby Hobbs Arrington. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Arrington was retired as Executive Director of the USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in McDuffie County with 30 years of service. He also retired as the owner and operator of Arrington Industries with 39 years of service. Mr. Arrington was past president of the local Farm Bureau, former member of the Lion’s Club and past Commander of the VFW Post. He was also a member of Ft. Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Moore Arrington of Crawfordville, GA; sons, Gordon Arrington, Jr. (Diane) of Thomson, GA, Frederick Francis Arrington ( Traci) of Norwood, GA; daughter, Debbie Arrington Gunn (J. J.) of Warrenton, GA; sister, Lois A. Richards of Crawfordville, GA; grandchildren, Richard Edward Arrington, Michael Scott Arrington, Teresa Gunn Foster, Leigh Gunn Jones and Amanda A. Jones and great grandchildren, Ricky Arrington, Gage Jones, Nicole Jones, Austin Jones and A. G. Foster. Mr. Arrington was preceded in death by wife, Catherine Finke Arrington.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
