Mrs. Glenda Reed Hines, 82 entered into rest on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at National Health Care, North Augusta, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Hines, daughter of the late Fletcher and Era Lois Bowers Reed was born in Lincoln County where she grew up and graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1957. After graduation, she attended business school in Athens where she worked for Coach Vince Dooley at the University of Georgia in the Athletic Department. Eventually she moved to Alpharetta, Georgia where she raised her two daughters. Since an illness in 1992, she has lived with both of her daughters in Alpharetta and Augusta and has had the privilege of watching her grandchildren grow up. They were her greatest treasures.
Glenda, also known as GG (Grandma Glenda) loved the Georgia Bulldogs, a good Hallmark Movie and a cold diet coke. As time went on, she began to understand this earth was not her home and began longing for her eternal home. She firmly believed the Way to this eternal home was through her personal faith in Christ by grace alone.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Willis and husband Matt of Evans, Georgia; Erika Bagwell of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Josh Willis, Luke Willis, Isabel Willis and Reed Bagwell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Clarence Reed, Evelyn Thigpen, Howard Reed, Lester Reed, Mack Reed, and Talmadge Reed.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to Pine Grove Methodist Church, 3449 Pine Grove Church Rd., Lincolnton, Ga 30817.
