George Smith Obituary

Mr. George Alexander Smith, 74, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2021. 

George was born in Washington, Georgia, but lived in Thomson all of his life. He graduated from Thomson High School and also attended Georgia Military College. George served in the U.S. Army National Guard in McCormick, SC. He worked for Daniels Construction and AMOCO for many years. George enjoyed camping, fishing at the lake and he was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. Smith and Margaret Wilson Smith; sister, Marcia Harrison and wife, Marie Smith. 

Survivors include his brother, Wayne T. Smith (Peggy Poole); cousins, Mike Lightfoot, Susan Chambers (Bing); nieces, Donna Oglesby, Rhonda Moss (Tracy),Rochelle Brooks and Teresa Smith (Richard) . 

His memory will be cherished  by many friends and family.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside.
