Edna Gail McCamish, known affectionately as Gail to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, in Tignall, GA. Born on November 4, 1953, in Kansas City, KS, Gail was the cherished daughter of the late Clarence and Stella Brown Haislip.
Gail spent the first 40 years of her life in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated high school from Argentine High School in Kansas City. At the age of 40, she moved to Conyers, Georgia where she began her career as a bookkeeper at the Conyers-Rockdale Library, where she was an integral part of the day-to-day operations of the library. After her retirement, Gail made the move to Lincoln County, where she continued to embrace life's simple pleasures for five more years.
Gail had a passion for nature that was evident to all who knew her. Her gardens reflected her love for plants and flowers. She was very crafty and always enjoyed creating the next custom birthday cake for her family events, amongst many other things. She also found joy in collecting various treasures, each with it’s own story and place in her heart. Animals held a special place in Gail's life, and she was known for her care and kindness to all of God’s creatures great and small.
Her love for Christ and her family was boundless, and she was a source of strength and inspiration to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Terry; sons, Chris Kozikowski and his wife Desiree of Jackson, GA, and Brian Kozikowski and his wife Jennifer of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Trevor and Henry Kozikowski; and sister, Frances Chronister.
Gail was proceeded in death by her son Brent Kozikowski, her brother Kenny Haislip, and her sister Margaret Lewis.
Gail's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories she leaves behind. Her body was cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
