Obituary
Mrs. Gail Elizabeth Pitts Guillebeau, 88 of Brandon Wilde Senior Care, Evans entered into rest on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 2pm at Lincolnton City Cemetery with Rev. Tripp Goodwin officiating.
Mrs. Guillebeau, daughter of the late Arthur Andrew and Lady Isabelle Cartledge Pitts was born on December 21, 1931 in Lincoln County. She grew up in Lincolnton and graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1950. She also attended West Georgia College, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. On December 27, 1953, she married Robert Thomas Guillebeau, a young man aspiring to become a football coach. She along with their precious children, Donna, Joe and Beth followed Coach Guillebeau to many schools throughout Georgia during his career which spanned five decades. During which time she had been employed as a social worker with DFACS in both Cedartown and Thomaston and later as an investigator with IRS. After her husband’s retirement, they resided in Thomaston where he served as Executive Director of the Georgia High School Association. She attended Thomaston United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas “Tommy” Guillebeau, and brother Dan Pitts.
She is survived by her three precious children, Donna G. Williams (Rick) of Milledgeville, Joe Guillebeau (Karli) of Haverford, PA, and Beth G. McElwee (Bobby) of Gainesville; sister, Ann P. Owens of Augusta; special friends and caregivers, Dianne Williams of N. Augusta, SC and Portia Cook of Augusta; 7 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
