Mr. Federico “Fred” Betancourt, Jr., 75, Dearing, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on November 19, 2022.
Fred was born in Kingsville, Texas on May 9, 1947, lived most of his life in Altus, Oklahoma, and moved to Dearing, Georgia in 1997. Fred was retired from the 82nd Aiborne Division of the Army and served during the Vietnam War. After relocating to McDuffie County, he was employed by McDuffie County until he retired. He was a member of New Hope Church on Belair Road, loved serving his Lord and Savior and especially loved his family and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; Federico Betancourt, Sr. and Mary Garcia Betancourt; his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Jane Betancourt; his siblings, Mary, Robert and Eddie. His survivors include his daughters, Elva Hutchison and Margaret Kaage (Thomas); his grandchildren, Denise Renee Watkins, Robert Michael Brekke, Tamara Lynn Brekke, Tiffani Marie Kaage, Brenton Thomas Kaage and Elysse Jane Watkins; three great grandchildren; and sisters, Sylbia Sanchez, Gayla Guerrero.
The family is planning a private memorial service for a later date.
