Evyon Thigpen Cox, 77, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on March 22, 2022.
Evyon was born in Thomson, Georgia on September 11, 1944, grew up in Thomson, Georgia, attended Thomson High School and lived and worked in Thomson, Georgia. She was a retired seamstress from Thomson Company, and Evyon was Baptist by faith. Evyon enjoyed crafts, scrap booking, animals, flower gardening, spending time with her family and friends and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, “Prissy”.
Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Thigpen and Bernice Landrum Thigpen; her brother, William “Bill” H. Thigpen, Sr., and her sisters, Cecelia Cliatt and Venera Guillebeau. Her survivors include her daughters, Kathy Guin and Lisa Banister (John); her grandchildren, Nicole Evans (Michael), Will Guin, Holley Banister and Taylor Guin; and her great grandchild Marley Evans; her nieces and nephews and her special friends, Donald Usry (Sybil).
Her Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia, and her Funeral Service, being officiated by Rev. Roy Cates, will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the interment following at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery, off Highway 171, Glascock County. Pallbearers for the service are Will Guin, Bill Thigpen, John Banister, Jimmy Bozard, Cooper Thigpen and Michael Evans. Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family’s personal guestbook.
Friends will be received from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. this evening at the home of Lisa and John Banister, 3141 Surrey Road, Thomson, Georgia.
