Mrs. Dwane Mobley Gunby, 71 of Thomson Hwy., Lincolnton, Ga. entered into rest on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Doctors Hospital.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 3pm at St Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 4pm until 6pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gunby, daughter of the late Albert H. and Vertice Crozier Mobley was born on August 1, 1950 at Wills Memorial Hospital. She had lived in the Loco community all of her life and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife and mother that was always involved in anything that her children were interested in. Her other interests included cooking, canning and gardening. She had the kindest heart and the biggest smile. Throughout her career, she had worked at Oxford Manufacturing, Milliken and Thomson Company. In recent years, she worked at the family’s businesses in Lincolnton, Hobby Corner and Gunby Variety Store.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Gunby and wife Tonya of Stapleton, Calvin Gunby and wife Gail of Augusta, and Albert Gunby of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Trilogy Gunby, Cody Gunby, Melina Gunby, and Kimberly Gunby; sisters, Nellie Funderburk of Lawrenceville and Diane Bracknell of Thomson; Her husband of 55 years, John Robert Gunby preceded her in death last year.
